Rebrand for CEA
Overview
CEA is a consultancy specialising in consents and permits for large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including nuclear, wind, and interconnectors. Their previous visual identity didn’t reflect the ambition and expertise of the company, and struggled to stand out in a crowded sector.
Concept
The new brand captures CEA’s collaborative spirit, symbolising the meeting point between client and adviser. Vibrant gradients and saturated, earthy tones create a premium and futuristic aesthetic that feels progressive and energetic, while still grounded in environmental authenticity.

Process
I was hired as the lead designer on this project by Make the Break. Working closely with their team, we went through multiple rounds of iteration, refining colour palettes and typography to align with CEA’s vision. We also addressed client concerns about visual similarities with a French organisation of the same name, confirming that the new identity was already distinct and appropriate for CEA’s market.
Old logo: Utilising a clever visual pun but lacking in refinement and boldness
Old presentation template: The lack of bold colours and photography guidelines made already washed out generic templates worse
